 My Mission.

Sheldon Nimijean:

  • 15+ years with over 20,000 hours of professional, personal training and strength training service and experience. Servicing a diverse clientele such as Golden Age, General Population, Athletes.
  • PICP Level 1&2 (Poliquin Institute)
  • Master Taekwondo 5th Dan
  • McGill University Certificate (Personal Trainer Development Program 2008)
  • Former Personal Training Supervisor, Ottawa Athletic Club 2012-2020
  • Attended and participated in numerous workshops and lectures on training, nutrition and program design
  • Life Saving Award (St. John of Jerusalem Priory of Canada February 2013)

My Story

I’ve always been an active individual, playing multiple sports throughout my adolescence. At age 9, I began practicing martial arts, and by 15, I had immersed myself in both Judo and Taekwondo.

A major turning point in my life came in 2000, when I was 34 years old. That year, I lost both of my parents—my father to a heart attack at 61, and just five months later, my mother to colon cancer at 58.

Their passing made me realize just how profoundly our lifestyle choices can impact our lifespan. Motivated by this realization, I shifted the direction of my career and began what I consider a personal “crusade” to promote health and longevity.

My professional journey took a new direction when I moved from Montreal to Ottawa at age 42. I began working as a personal trainer and was later promoted to Supervisor of the Personal Training Department at the Ottawa Athletic Club, where I served from 2012 to 2020.

Those 15 years were incredibly fulfilling. I’m grateful for having accumulated over 20,000 hours of hands-on experience, working alongside a dedicated team and helping thousands of clients transform their health in positive, lasting ways.

I’m a passionate advocate for strength training, not just for its physical benefits, but for the way it enhances every area of life—including nutrition, mobility, balance, and mental well-being. Research continues to validate the profound impact strength training can have on our overall health.
