I have trained with Sheldon for more than 7 years, starting at the Ottawa Athletic Club and now at CSAD, including virtual workouts during the COVID lockdowns. My major goal had been to have sufficient strength to be able to care for my wife, including lifting, transferring and carrying, if needed. I have exceeded that goal. He has supervised me carefully and I have never been subjected to any significant injury. At the first hint of any issue, he will initiate stretching (active and use of roller or ball) and alternate exercise so as not to cause further problems. He has been a very good resource, not only for strength training but also for nutrition and proper supplementation. I know that I would be better off if I actually followed that advice more closely.
I have never been bored. I virtually always end a session feeling satisfied with what I accomplished. The mental health benefits have also been noticeable.
Sheldon practices what he preaches. He is personable, approachable, clear with communication and expectations. As he has tolerated me for this many years, he has remarkable patience!
